With support from friends, I organised a non profit, trial event dedicated to nurturing local arts, crafts, workshops and music. Many local friends were out of town during that weekend so although it was quiet, we enjoyed an inspirational and friendly meet up!
It was a cold, windy and a little drizzly day in December in the Hengchun Peninsula, but nevertheless, we gathered to enjoy this creative experience.
Trumpeters, handpan players, djembe teachers and electric guitarists united to make some of the most chill jam sessions throughout the day. As well as in the evening, DJ’s who served us a musical selection to guide us along our creative journey.
We had artists from as far as Taitung, exhibiting their handmade items, jewlery and the painters and potters art pieces were on full display. Tattoo artists were focussing inside the huts which were dedicated for them to safely and privately tattoo in.
The children’s workshop was amazingly received- the children loved the teachers hands on approach. The handpan and yoga workshop as well as the djembe workshop was also super fun to take part in and we had many, happy participants.
Later, in the evening we were blessed with watching some epic live painting and sat next to the fire to keep warm!
The food served by the Koala kitchen at Shady Tree was yummy and satisfying as well as a spicy hotpot soup some campers were sharing. We also had hand made, freshly baked cakes from a local too.
It was such a heart warming and magical day! To everyone who came, helped in anyway and or bought some art or attended a workshop a BIG THANK YOU – we appreciate you.
Thank you so much for your ongoing support ❤
